Elop AS is a Norwegian technology company developing ultrasound solutions for inspection of concrete structures. Our system sets a new standard for capturing and visualizing critical defects inside concrete. Director – Business Development & Sales

Elop AS seeks an entrepreneurial, strategic-minded, goal-driven, and product-oriented Director for Business Development and Sales; a bold leader who is not afraid to be the disruptive force behind new and innovative business models that changes the industry. In this role, you will lead new business efforts and revenue growth, and create market awareness and make the Elop brand top of mind. As part of the management team, you will contribute to build a business-oriented and winning culture within the company, with focus on customers, opportunities and continuous development.

As the activities advance, this role is expected to build and manage a team to support Elop’s commercial activities aligned with the company’s growth plans and ambitions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving the process of developing the company business model
  • Develop and manage the market entry strategy and plan
  • Exploring and developing opportunities by researching and analysing the market, competitor moves, customer strategy and industry trends, and from there drive a winning sales & business strategy and plan for the company.
  • Identify, develop, connect and liaise with new business contacts across a host of clients. Maintain ongoing relationships with key decision makers.
  • Create and manage a system for categorizing possible clients and implementing an efficient and effective outreach plan.
  • Work with the technology and other internal teams to create a pipeline of opportunities, and coordinate go-to-market activities in cross-functional teams.
  • Lead with facts and numbers that quantify opportunities.
  • Negotiate directly with partners required to bring new business opportunities to market.
  • Lead executive presentations required to gain support for new initiatives.
  • Achieve sales targets through sales of Elop’s technology and solutions and adjacent services by identifying business opportunities/prospects, review, select and prioritize to maximize positioning and winning probabilities.
  • Apply knowledge and learn new markets required to help Elop meet its objectives.
  • Articulate customer needs and influence current and future product/capability roadmaps by leveraging customer feedback.
  • Identify opportunities and manage the selling process including facilitating negotiations and reaching closure on new business opportunities
  • Executes sales process improvement initiatives and enhance commercial performance.
  • Leads and facilitates customer meetings and workshops.
  • Serves as a business representative and ambassador for Elop at industry events, conferences and trade shows.

Skills and qualification:

The Director of Business Development and Sales is an industry experienced, independent thinker with the ability to develop "out of the box" ideas and demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to overcome objections, and with passion for sale. In addition, this leader possesses excellent communication skills, as well as critical problem-solving skills. Our ideal person is goal oriented, well organized and comfortable in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and prepared to work in a hectic start-up environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science, Commerce or Business administration areas.
  • 5 – 8 years relevant B2B sales and marketing experience from the Testing-Inspection-Certification (TIC) or Construction industry is an advantage. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
  • Experience in designing and implementing business development and sales strategies at executive level
  • Dynamic, engaging, and outgoing personality with the tenacity and commitment needed to nurture relationships through sales process and able to close a commercial deal.
  • Assessment all new business opportunities and recommends strong course of action
  • Track record in holistic thinking and how to act on behalf of the entire company. Build and maintain co-operative relationships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
  • Must be able and willing to travel extensively.
  • Preferable experience using a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to track and manage opportunities, relationship and customer interactions.
