Swedish subsidiary awarded SEK 28.5 million rail contract

17 January 2023 – Rail Supply AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Inin Group-owned Nordic Infrastructure Group, has been awarded a SEK 28.5 million contract to supply the overhead conductor rail system in the Varberg tunnel on Sweden’s West Coast Line.

The expansion of the railway through Varberg is one part of the expansion of the entire West Coast Line between Gothenburg and Lund. With a fully upgraded double track, the capacity of the line will be greater and will mean an increase in the frequency of services for both passenger and freight trains.

Under the contract, Rail Supply AB will provide the overhead conductor rail system in the Varberg tunnel. The conductor rail system will be supplied by Swiss supplier Furrer+Frey.

“Rail Supply AB has extensive experience from installing overhead lines and conductor rail systems in general, and specifically 20 years’ experience with Furrer+Frey’s system. This know-how is a key reason for why we have been awarded this sizeable contract,” says Gjermund Sogn, CEO of Nordic Infrastructure Group.

Rail Supply AB will deliver the project as a subcontractor to Infranord AB, who in turn is subcontractor to Implenia Sverige AB. The end-customer is the Swedish Transport Administration.

The work will start immediately and continue throughout 2023.

Rail Supply AB is a subsidiary company of Nordic Infrastructure Group, which is wholly owned by Euronext Growth-listed Inin Group AS.
